The 1,615-acre, master-planned community of Grayhawk is located just north of the Loop 101 Freeway in North Scottsdale. Within the community’s two neighborhoods, The Retreat and The Park, residents have access to a number of pocket and city parks, playgrounds, picnic areas, and the Grayhawk trail system. The Retreat neighborhood is divided into two sections: the Raptor Retreat and the Talon Retreat. Between the two sections, there are 2 golf courses, 2 community associations (the Grayhawk Community Association and the Retreat Village Association), 7 community swimming pools, 7 spas, and 6 tennis courts. The Park neighborhood, which is not gated (except for the Pinnacle section of the neighborhood), has a number of grassy parks, picnic ramadas, and playgrounds for young children.
 
The Grayhawk Community Park, a 13-acre park designed by the City of Scottsdale, has 2 of each of the following: baseball fields, sand volleyball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, and basketball courts. Residents also have quick and easy access to Hayden Peak Crossing and Grayhawk Plaza, two packed shopping areas with grocery stores, restaurants, and other convenience stores. Isabella’s Kitchen, a casual Italian restaurant located directly across from the Grayhawk clubhouse, offers stunning views of Grayhawk’s golf course. Additional amenities of the neighborhood include the Scottsdale Healthcare Thompson Peak Hospital, Vi at Grayhawk, a retirement community and continuing care facility, and the Boys’ and Girls’ Club.

The Grayhawk Golf Club

Grayhawk has two courses: the Raptor and the Talon. Designed by Tom Fazio, the par-72 Raptor course is a challenging, 7,108-yard course. The Talon course, designed by David Graham and Gary Panks, has a par of 72 and is 7,000 yards long. The Grayhawk club is also home to the Grayhawk Learning Center for Golf Instruction, so interested golfers can take lessons here to improve their swing. The 40,000 square foot Grayhawk Clubhouse has three restaurants: the Quill Creek Café, Phil’s Grill, and The Morning Joint (also known as Mojo’s. The clubhouse also has men’s and women’s locker rooms, conference rooms, and a golf shop.
 

Schools

Grayhawk Elementary School is conveniently located within the Grayhawk community. This K-6 school falls within the Paradise Valley School District. Other school-aged children in the Grayhawk community attend El Dorado (a private PreK-8 school), Mountain Trail Middle School, and Pinnacle High School.
